This was the first year that Frome took part in the Wessex Carnival Grand Prix circuit, giving all the floats a chance of winning prizes through entering Frome, Shaftesbury, Mere, Castle Cary and Wincanton Carnivals. This year’s overall winner of the Stacey Cup was three-year-old Marie-Louise Ledbury dressed in a crinoline costume.
