Pom-poms, princesses and a pilgrims’ progress were the highlights of the children’s carnival. Rainbow Nursery were winners with their wild animal costumes and Wesley and Whitbourne Sunday School won the Tony Diprose Trophy with Pilgrims’ Progress. In the evening the Staplemead Trophy went to Cary Comedians with ‘Ello ‘Ello ‘Ello; the Frome Carnival Shield went to Magnum CC with Around the World in 80 Days; Hot Rock CC with Arabia won the Butler & Tanner Trophy.
