Each gallery covers one or more years of Carnival Entries. Some are of very poor quality (see the Home Page for details) but if you have better quality photographs we can substitute or add extra images to the galleries.

1907 and 1908. 1920's and 1930's in black and white with one hand coloured photo of Wallbridge Wool Factory.

1949. There were no carnivals after 1938 until 1945 due to the second world war. We have no images for 1945 to 1948. In 1949 we have the Frome Young Farmers and the Frome Red Cross

1960, 1961 and 1962. Many local industries were keen carnival entrants and we have KE Beswick Group, Wallington & Weston Sports & Social Club, Frome Post Office and the Sea Rangers.

1970 photos and several from the 1970's but actual date & names unknown. Colour images are beginning to appear. The Chippenham Crackpots carnival collecting vehicle is processing down North Parade. During this period carnival congregated and started at the Cheese Show field.

1971 to 1975 entries. It's interesting to see there were quite a few entries on ponies at this time.

1976 to 1980, several are unknown entries. There are many carnival clubs being represented like Huckyduck CC, the DAK Gang, The Jales family and Chameleon Colts. Our first Town Crier, Steve Haberfield, appears in one of these photos.

2015 Ophelia Head with Chic, chic, chic, chic, chicken completely bowled the judges over in the afternoon and Kipling Junior Carnival Club wowed the crowds with their London to Paris - The Race float.

2016 Another fine September day with fewer, but many original, children's entries and some outstanding evening floats with the Best Overall Float going to Kipling CC with their entry SHOUT.
